Graduate in Physics (1998) and PhD at University of Valladolid in 2007. He worked as assistant professor of the Department of Optics and Applied Physics of the UVa during 4 years, teaching in Fourier Optics and Photography. During this time he worked on the development of the Iberian Network for Sun photometer Aerosol Measurements in the Group of Atmospheric Optics. For 2 years he was postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratoire d’Optique Atmosphérique at the University of Lille/CNRS (France). Then he obtained a 3 years postdoctoral researcher position at the Izaña Atmospheric Research Center (IARC) of the Meteorological State Agency of Spain, AEMET, within the “Juan de la Cierva” program of the Spanish Research Council. He has worked at different projects related to the investigation of the atmospheric composition (aerosol and ozone) by optical methods, and the spectral analysis of satellite images for the study of vegetation. Currently he work for the Group of Atmospheric Optics at the IARC facility in calibration and quality assurance of the AERONET-Europe Network for Sun photometer Aerosol Measurements, with especial interest devoted to polar aerosol and moon photometry.
