Graduate in Physics at Universidad de Valladolid (1991) and PhD at University of Valladolid in 1997. He has worked in Remote Sensing applications in national y an international research projects; mainly in projects funded by European Space Agency and the main remote sensing and space companies (GMV, Deimos Space, Indra, etc). One of the most important achievement was his participation as co-founder of the spin-off company Deimos-Imaging, in Spain, and his participation as researcher in the implementation of the first Spanish remote sensing satellite: Deimos-1. Abel Calle was the only official representative in Baikonur Russian spaceport during the launch of satellite in July 2009. He was the vice-chairman of the Spanish remote sensing Society during 4 years and he was the President of Physics section of the University of Valladolid. Currently he is the Head of Applied Physics Department of the University of Valladolid.
