Research

The research at GOA-UVa is framed within the ,Atmospheric Optics, which can be defined as the study of the optical properties of the atmosphere using optical techniques. GOA-UVA deals with the application of remote sensing techniques, both ground-based and satellite based, for the study of atmospheric components such as aerosols, water vapor and ozone, among others. The optical instrumentation also includes in-situ techniques, that are complementary to the columnar properties based on sunphotometer measurements and satellite radiometric sensor data. This research is encompassed by the measurement and modeling of solar radiation, including the necessary radiometric calibration activity.
