Sara Herrero Anta

Originally from León, Spain, she graduated in Physics in 2019 from the Universidad de Valladolid. In 2020, she joined the Atmospheric Optics Group (GOA-UVa) as a laboratory technician through a Garantía Juvenil I+D+i contract. During that time, she also completed a Master’s in Physics at the Universidad de Valladolid, specializing in Atmosphere and Climate, which she finished in 2021. After some time combining technical and research activities, she obtained a predoctoral contract in 2022, co-funded by the Junta de Castilla y León and the Fondo Social Europeo Plus. She’s currently pursuing her PhD with GOA-UVa, where she is part of the group’s calibration team and  also she is carrying out teaching duties in the Physics and Optics and Optometry Degrees from the Universidad de Valladolid.   Her research focuses on the retrieval of aerosol properties using different remote sensing mesuremens. She has worked with inversion algorithms like GRASP and radiative transfer models such as libRadtran to  study how clouds and aerosols impact radiation. She is also actively involved in polar research, especially in the Arctic, where she collaborates with diverse European partners.
