Dr. David Mateos

Graduate in Physics at Universidad de Valladolid (2007) and PhD at University of Valladolid in 2012. For one year he was postdoctoral fellow at the AIRE research group, Universidad de Extremadura (Spain), where he participated in several projects and studies mainly about radiative effects of different atmospheric factors and atmospheric ozone column. After this period, he started to work at the Group of Atmospheric Optics in the Universidad de Valladolid since 2014. He obtained a postdoctoral researcher position at the same group, within the “Juan de la Cierva – Incorporación” program of the Spanish Research Council (since 2016). His research is now concentrated in the investigation of the atmospheric aerosols by optical methods, in particular: identification of atmospheric high turbidity episodes, emphasis of mineral dust outbreaks and polar environments; aerosol characterization; radiative budget, among others. He has more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in SCI journals. Currently, he is member of the calibration team of Valladolid site in the AERONET-Europe framework, co-director of two PhD theses, and he continues the main research lines of the GOA-UVa group.
